RAG & BONE(R)

Vintage- inspired boots are another thing that, along with leopard print, could easily fall into the abyss of manufactured, try-hard trends thanks to the likes of River Island, The Saturdays and Diana Vickers (she's, like, so indie).

This sort of footwear was super cool when people started sporting 'workhouse chic' as a joke a few years ago, when the boots in question were most likely genuinely vintage (second hand and scabby); but as the beady eyed fashion proletariat spied their  idols subscribing to the trend, high-street moguls got on board and 'vintage' footwear seemed to lose a bit of its credibility.

Now enter super hip New York label Rag & Bone. With their Wessex lace-up boots my faith is being restored in the sort of shoes that our great grandparents would be proud of.  At a US retail price of $495 (plus tax) they're no snip, but let's just tell ourselves they'd be a great investment.

Another one.
